Infinite Reverie
A downloadable game
If you're unfamiliar with Itchfunding, here's a quick rundown: TTRPG projects that use Itchfunding release a playable, but relatively barebones version of their game. The game is usually at a reduced price, and they use the money from sales to 'upgrade' the game with better art, layout, or whatever through periodic updates. This is a growing alternative to the Kickstarter model of crowdfunding. This is a complete and playable game, but the art and layout may receive improvements over time. Because of the nature of Itchfunding, we also have the option of fixing or improving anything about the system, based on community feedback.
Infinite Reverie is an original tabletop roleplaying game for 1-5 players and one narrator. It contains a rules system for playing stories within the world, and has an upcoming campaign release for use alongside the system. It is best suited for sessions of 2-5 hours, and can be run as a single session one-shot, or a longer campaign.
A TTRPG love-letter to JRPGs, Infinite Reverie follows the story of revolutionaries fighting for the future of the land of Sindern against SUNFLOWER, a megacorporation that owns Sindern's government. Play your own character built from one of four ancestries, one of five compelling archetypes, and following one of three tactical paths. Infinite Reverie contains a new combat engine designed to emulate the feel of iconic JRPG moments, with each archetype's playbook offering multiple unique abilities, including Ultimoves, powerful skills allowing you to strike down enemies or bolster your allies beyond your normal limits. In addition, Infinite Reverie offers an interesting and strategic magic system that can be harnessed by any character, with its own critical effects and a simple MP system.
Infinite Reverie is inspired by classic JRPGs, such as:
Final Fantasy
Chrono Trigger
Legend of Dragoon
Dragon Quest
Super Mario RPG
other games like:
Star Renegades
Slay the Spire
as well as TTRPGs like:
In the Time of Monsters (by Possum Creek Games)
Big Eyes, Small Mouth (by Guardians of Order)
Zin Never Dies (by Nemo Dowme)
LUMEN (by Spencer Campbell)

That weapon math is bonkers
I cannot tell you how Here For It I am
I just learned about this (from Aaronacious!) and came here immediately. I am fully enthralled by these mechanics.
Thank you both! We still have plans to update the game, visually, narratively, and mechanically. It remains among our favorite projects. We just have a few other things to get through first!
